A Momnet from Vlog Europe

// October 7th, 2009 // No Comments » // art, friends, fun, Vlogging

We are thinking of doing Vlog Europe in Amsterdam in November. Still nothing is sure but Raymond just posted this video from last year. It was funny. Vlog Europe has been the longest running annual conference for Video Bloggers since it started in Amsterdam 5 years ago. It is always a great time to see the old school vloggers together again. Much of this is thanks to people like Jeffrey Taylor and Raymond that are always trying to get the thing together. It’s not a TED or a picnic, it’s basically a group, a small goup of us vloggers that were there in the begning and through all the hype that has happend with You Tube, Online Video sharing etc. this group just still gets together once a year to talk about it. It’s always fun.

From Raymond’s Entry

This is one of my very favorite moments from VlogEurope 2008 in Budapest – it shows so much of the spirit of Gabemac (tw)

Thanks for being such an awesome, fun guy Gabe!

In this video is also Mindcaster Marc (NL) and Susan Kirkpatrick (USA)

Here is my story:
Here are some treasures of mine. My laptop, my green hat and my dad’s jacket. This is the laptop that I used for the last few years, traveling around the world talking about video blogging, creating cool projects, from XOLO.TV days through Mobuzz.tv days. The laptop has been through so much (so many stickers as well) that I let it retire at my home to watch films and videos online. I can’t realy take it anywhere nowadays because I abused it so much while traveling. Then there’s my green hat which I bought at Lowlands, and has been with me partying for the last year. That hat has been on many beautiful heads of friends, family, or co-clubbers at night.The jacket is from my dad. He bought it in College just before having me. He wore it to all the great concerts like “The Who”, “Led Zeplin”, “Pink Floyd” and many more. When I turned 16 he gave it to me, and I’ve worn it all over the world to many concerts, parties, etc. In the last 30 years, this jacket has ALWAYS been in style and I always have people asking me where I got it. When I have it on I feel safe, remembering as a kid being held in my dad’s arms while we wore the same jacket.

A BOY AND HIS BIKE!

// June 24th, 2009 // No Comments » // friends, fun, love

I Donated A Bicycle To CharitySince I’ve been back in Amsterdam, I have been unable (too lazy) to get a bike. My old one, is dead somewhere near GabeB’s place and I can’t find the key. Marc had another bike which he lost the key to outside my house since August. Good condition though. I finally got around (was awake and in the country, and remembered that I could) to going to the bike shop across the street to get the lock taken off. They do this between 10 and 12 on Saturday. I mean seriously, when you go out on a Friday night, the last thing you think about is getting a bike lock sawed on a Saturday morning. I finally got to it, and Marc even threw in a new seat for it. What a great friend! He has a video and some great pics on his blog here. I can’t tell you how nice it is to have a bike again in Amsterdam. After cleaning it, throwing on some stickers (need to customize your bike in Amsterdam always), and putting the seat on, we went for a ride in the VondelPark. I was so happy, like a kid who just got a new bike for Christams. That’s really how it feels. Even in these rough times, it is with a little help from my friends like Marc that help me through. MARC YOU ARE MY HERO!!!!
