I was reading Kara Swisher’s post on All Things D about the Bing demo at Microsoft. I decided to give it a show compared to Google. To me Bing fails very simply. I will be the first to admit I’m a complete narcissist when it comes to search engines. If I put in my name and the engine can not find me adequately, then how the hell can it find anything else I would want as it has no real idea of who the hell I am or my existence! Yes that’s how I feel. So here is my simple test.
I search both google vs. bing and see what the Image results are for Gabe Mac. Immediately I have a visual representation of how well each search engine knows me. And let’s be honest a search engine is kind of like your local grocery store or bar. You go there because they know you, no matter if there is a bigger shopping center being built down the way. At least that’s how I am. So Bing if you want me as a user, you better start getting to know me. Google knows me by 77%, and bing only knows me by 11%.
Google Images Search results knows me by 77%
Bing Image Search results knows me by 11%

I know you all think the same way, I just go ahead and say it.
