I just finished a teaser for the Vodafone Mobile Clicks Award. Vodafone is giving away €150,000 in prize money to 3 startups. There is a jury of 12 experts to judge the startups in both England and Holland. In August they will be opening up the finalists to be voted on by the public to determine who gets the award. The finale will take place at Picnic in Amsterdam on 25th of September, and should be really fun to see who wins. It’s a no strings attached deal, so that Vodafone doesn’t actually take any part in shares or whatever, but simply gives the money to help stimulate the company. Great initiative and also a great way to discover the trends that are happening in mobile in Europe. It’s been an education filming the jury rounds on what experts are looking for in a good startup. Who will win is still up in the air, but keep our eyes on it as there are some REALLY cool companies in the running I think.
