Getting prepared for LowLands 2008

I am so excited that I won tickets to Lowlands this year. I have to go pick them up on Friday from the postoffice. So first thing I will do that. But how does one prepare for Lowlands digitally?

Spotify

  1. Well first get up to date on the music. For that I am using Spotify. It is the most excellent app around for listening to music. Forget Last FM man. I made a playlist of all the artists that are going and I’m just playing it around the clock on shuffle, and making notes. Spotify is an app that streams an enormous library of music for free to your computer, and it navigates a lot like, and sometimes works even better than, iTunes. [Daniel, if you are reading this, you should setup playlists for all the festivals. Just an idea.]
  2. Next I have to get my phones charged up and setup with Qik and Shozu to do some live updating to my various blogs and sites. I’ve learned to take more than one cell with me so I don’t have to waste time charging them during the 3 days.
  3. Then make sure my lowlog is up to par just in case there are some new video installations this year like last year to do some live updates there.
  4. Sync with friends on twitter and check all the #LL08 tags going around.

Good, now I’m ready to rock. Just gotta find my backpack and some clothes. :) See you at lowlands!!!

  1. Nice style Gabe, really cool site! :P

  2. Best festival tip I ever came up with huh? Taking more phones or at least more batteries that fit your phone.
Hope you’re having a great time!

  3. That’s right Tam. You thought of that. Great idea it was. Almost as good as your idea to bring a bag and leave it at the lockers so you don’t have to walk back to the Camping every time. ;) Too bad you missed it this year, maybe next.

  4. Def next! ;)

  5. Oooh, I’d love to try Spotify! But when I try to sign up it says I need an invitation? You wouldn’t happen to have one for me, would you? ;-)

  6. I don’t really know what we have to wait from Spotify, since websites like http://www.deezer.com/en already offer free and legal music-on-demand, on a veeeery vast catalogue! What else?

  7. @Matt Well. I really like spotify as it has playlists I can make and works a lot like iTunes, but I think it’s waiting becuase they are developing it still. There is a lot to infrastructure that has to be done and the like I’m sure to get something like that off the ground. But I’m sure Daniel is working
